Forensic Engineering Expert and Innovator

Ethan Batterman represents the next generation in forensic engineering, bringing a modern approach to complex investigations. With expertise in advanced technology, accident reconstruction, and biomechanics, Ethan delivers innovative solutions tailored to meet the needs of clients.

Ethan R. Batterman, M.A., M.M.E., joined the firm (full-time) in 2023 as forensic engineering consultant and the Director of Technology. He has considerable expertise in the areas of computer methods in accident reconstruction and simulation, including occupant kinematics and biomechanics.

As a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensed Part 107 (Drone) pilot Ethan also manages and operates the drone fleet used to perform aerial surveys, map accident scenes, and scan vehicles. In addition to the aforementioned areas, Ethan also has expertise in the fields of slip, trip and fall analysis, and the biomechanics of injury.

Prior to joining Batterman Engineering Ethan was employed as a Technology Support Specialist (IT) and High School mathematics teacher for the Fairfax County, Virgina Public Schools.

Ethan received his Master of Mechanical Engineering (M.M.E.) degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2021. He additionally holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Technology for Learning and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, both from Hofstra University.
